Image Consultant Tina Gill to Judge Pageant

Local image consultant, Tina Gill of worthwhile style, has been chosen as one of the judges representing the Denver community for the Miss Teen Denver Pageant. The host company of the event, Nationals Incorporated, brings their unique program, defined as “Pageantry With Purpose," to Colorado for a two-day event occurring on August 29 and 30.

"I am honored to take part in this amazing event for young ladies focusing on positive self esteem,” said Gill. “I have long embraced creating a supportive environment for everyone I work with and helping them see the true beauty they possess. I pride myself in encouraging women to be themselves and love who they are right now in their lives.”

Nationals Incorporated works with young ladies ages seven through nineteen, producing a program that focuses on self confidence and self esteem building. Contestants undergo nearly five weeks of training on interview skills and stage presence.

Judges will hold personal interviews with each contestant at Embassy Suites (4444 N.Havana St., Denver) on Saturday, August 29. The actual pageant, including casual and formal wear, will be held at Teikyo Events Center at Colorado Heights University (3001 S. Federal Blvd., Denver) on Sunday, August 30. Reveal Imager and Vi Peel Are Newest Members of Spa’s Arsenal

Refresh Laser Spa (6300 East Hampden Ave., Ste. 3132, Denver), specializing in non-invasive anti-aging aesthetic laser treatments, introduces two new innovative services: Reveal™ Imager and Vi Peel.

“We are excited to take our services to the next level with the offering of Reveal Skin Imaging and Vi Peel,” commented Owner Kimberly Hall. “In just a short time, Refresh has become known regionally for utilizing the very latest in skin care technology.”

The Reveal Imager, new from Canfield Imaging Systems, is designed to take the highest quality medical photographs. The system captures images of surface and sub-surface skin and will photograph front, left, and right views.

A revolutionary new solution for professional skin care consultation, the Reveal Imager was designed for the skin care counter, also making it ideal for spas, medical spas and traditional medical practices.

The Reveal Imager uses the same Canfield proprietary RBX™ Technology employed in research laboratories and high-end skin care practices. With RBX, skin care professionals can detect subsurface vascular (red) and melanin (brown) conditions and develop highly targeted treatment recommendations.

Developed by Kalil Medical Products, the Vi Peel improves the tone, texture, and clarity of skin; reduces or eliminates age spots, freckles, and hyper-pigmentation, including melasma; softens lines and wrinkles; clears acne skin conditions, reducing or eliminating acne scars; and stimulates the production of collagen, for firmer, more youthful skin.

“The unique blend of ingredients in Vi Peel produces significant results with no pain, no skin preparation, and very little downtime,” said Hall.

Kalil Medical Products’ proprietary formulas give dramatic results with minimal discomfort or downtime. A simple, practical Vi Peel application produces dramatic results in only seven days. Caring for the skin requires just two to four visits per year for the Vi Peel, followed by maintenance using the Vi Derm Skin Care System.

Registration begins at 9:00 a.m. Walkers can register beforehand by visiting www.kidneywalk.org or calling Tracey Nilson at 800-263-4005 ext. 116. There is no registration fee, but all walkers are encouraged to fundraise. Individuals who raise $100 or more receive an official Kidney Walk t-shirt. Additional prizes are based on the amount of money raised by each participant.

Beginning at 10:00 a.m., the one to two-mile, non-competitive walk will raise funds and awareness of early prevention of kidney and urinary tract diseases and the need for organ donation.

“This is the inaugural year for our Billings Kidney Walk,” said Judy Norman, Executive Director of the National Kidney Foundation of Colorado, Montana and Wyoming. “Without this fundraising event, the NKF would not be able to offer the range of services and support made available to Montana patients, their families and those at risk for kidney disease.”

The event is expected to raise $30,000 to help support the various patient and community assistance programs, as well as kidney health screenings in Montana.
The National Kidney Foundation of Colorado, Montana, and Wyoming is dedicated to preventing kidney and urinary tract disease, improving the health and well-being of individuals and families affected by these diseases and increasing the availability of all organs for transplantation. Cathie Beck Hosts Launch Party October 6

Denver-based author, Cathie Beck’s new, award-winning memoir, Cheap Cabernet: A Friendship, will publish on Tuesday, October 6, 2009. Cheap Cabernet: A Friendship — in a world-wide celebration of women, friendship, irreverence and joi-de-vivre — will launch with an unprecedented “Cheap Cabernet: Vino for Every Vixen ParTAY” at www.cathiebeck.com from 12:01 a.m., October 6, 2009, until 11:59 p.m.

Cheap Cabernet: A Friendship is available for sale at www.amazon.com on October 6, 2009 and is expected to reach Amazon.com Best Seller Status.

Cathie Beck is “The Wine Wench” columnist at KUVO 89.3 FM and for ColoradoBiz Magazine, and is the recipient of several awards, including the Scripps-Howard Award for Excellence in Journalism, winner of the University of Colorado’s Dean’s Grant Award for Writing, and multiple winner of the Louisiana Press Women’s and Denver Press Woman’s Writing Awards.

Visitors to www.cathiebeck.com will have the chance to win dozens of “Cheap Cabernet: Vino for Every Vixen ParTAY” gifts, including: gifts from best-selling author and renowned spiritual teacher, Dr. Wayne W. Dyer; author and speaker, Peggy McColl’s “The 21 Distinctions of Wealth” video and audio; and autographed signature Cheap Cabernet gear — including wine prizes and autographed copies of Cheap Cabernet: A Friendship.

“We’re very excited for the October 6 official launch,” says author, Cathie Beck. “We are hearing from book groups and women who love to read from all over the world. We knew Cheap Cabernet had gained momentum — what we didn’t see coming was the book publishing industry’s endorsements and the widespread love of the story.”

Endorsements to date include:

“Beyond wonderful — wickedly funny, poignant, and smart. Anyone who's a fan of Mary Karr or Annie Lamott will find Cathie Beck's Cheap Cabernet both laugh-out-loud hysterical — and heartbreaking."

-Best Selling Author, Elle Newmark, The Book of Unholy Mischief

“Cheap Cabernet is utterly seductive ... a page-turner ... impossible to put down. Not since "Thelma & Louise" have women and friendship been so beautifully and powerfully painted. This hilarious, heartbreaking memoir is a joyful and exhilarating ride for the reader."

-Sandi Gelles-Cole, Host of "Ask the Book Doctor" radio show and Founder, Gelles-Cole Literary Enterprises

“The book’s online launch party is about celebrating women — and especially women’s friendships — around the globe,” says Beck. “It’s about joy, raucous out-right fun — and, especially, it’s about never taking oneself too seriously. I do enjoy a good cab with my friends.”

Due to the anticipated expected attendance, www.cathiebeck.com, the launch party’s official site, is being upgraded and will be available for viewing September 10, 2009. Attendees should simply grab a cocktail or cup of tea and log on any time after 12:01 a.m., October 6, 2009.
