You are cordially invited to Studio F’s second event on May 10, 11, and 12 with Chef Jenna Johansen, a Colorado-based chef who stars on Bravo’s new reality cooking show, Around the World in 80 Plates, airing May 9.

“Join Chef Jenna Johansen as she takes her guests on a global culinary adventure to celebrate her debut on Bravo’s most ambitious show to-date,” said Studio F Owner James Mazzio.

Housed in the historic Ice House Building in LoDo, Studio F, formerly Mise en Place (cooking school), brings a new kind of culinary entertainment to Denver. Using the pop-up restaurant concept, Studio F creates one-of-kind dining experiences that allow guests to interact with rising local and nationally renowned chefs.

Johansen’s five-course paired wine and cocktail dinner is a global celebration featuring flavors from around the world while paying respect to each region’s culture and heritage. Johansen begins in Spain with a trio of tapas and moves on to Thailand, so guests may enjoy lap chong salad paired with a beautiful cocktail featuring Mekhong, the spirit of Thailand. Attendees will move on to Johansen’s favorite country, Italy, and work their way to France, finishing in Morocco with a one-of-a-kind m'hanncha, a snake-shaped cake surrounded by almond-stuffed dates and the partner to end most Moroccan meals, warm mint tea with a creative cocktail twist.

“I’m thrilled to join one of my favorite Colorado chefs, James Mazzio, as we celebrate the opening of Studio F and the debut of my new show,” said Johansen. “I want to give my guests a little bit of flavor from all of my favorite parts of the world.”

Each evening will feature two seatings (6:00 pm and 8:15 pm), and tickets are $100. Tickets may be purchased online by visiting www.studioflodo.com.

Jim Guttau is Contributing Writer for Book, Lost Lessons from Life on the Farm

Jim Guttau, a Denver-based publicist, has announced that he is a contributing writer for the book, Lost Lessons from Life on the Farm. Guttau wrote a chapter, entitled “A 4-H Education,” highlighting his upbringing in rural Iowa, along with valuable lessons learned from that time.

The book was compiled by Editor Gregory Bloom, who solicited for entries from former farm residents. Eighteen contributors share stories in their own voices and unique styles.

“Hard work, responsibility, being content with little, caring for animals, helping others in need, saving and planning for the future and many other great lessons were learned naturally by growing up on a farm,” said Bloom. “From stories about caring for animals, growing crops, tearing down barns, fixing tractors, training horses, raising cattle or milking cows, you will laugh and reflect upon the difficulties and joys that farm life brought to us.”

The book recently received an endorsement from Temple Grandin, doctor of animal science, professor at Colorado State University, author, and the subject of the 2010 Emmy-nominated film, Temple Grandin.

“Eighteen people tell about their childhoods growing up on a farm or ranch,” comments Grandin. “They learned the value of hard work, responsibility and ingenuity. Everyone who is interested in farming and rural life would love this book."

The book can be purchased at Amazon.com and BarnesandNoble.com. Learn more about the book at www.LostLessons.org.
