Event Will Benefit Goodwill April 27-29

Gear Grab, a community-based consignment event for used sporting equipment, will host its first event in Denver from April 27 to April 29, 2012 at 838 Broadway, Denver. The event will benefit Goodwill Industries of Denver.

“At Gear Grab, participants can buy and sell lightly used sporting equipment,” commented Co-Founder Mark Barrow. “Including food, drink, live music, prizes, and shopping, Gear Grab is for all ages and all types of sporting gear.”

Those interested in participating can first register at www.gear-grab.com. Gear drop off times are April 27 from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and April 28 from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. For consignors and volunteers, the gear sale will begin April 28 at 11:00 a.m. and end at 7:00 p.m., continuing on April 29 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Gear goes on sale to the public on April 29 from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

“For consignors, this means cold hard cash for your unused gear,” said Co-Founder Aaron Hart. “For shoppers, this means pre-screened, high quality products at a discount. This is not to be mistaken for an overgrown garage sale, as attendees will take advantage of ‘Craigslist prices’ in a retail setting.”

Gear Grab’s proceeds will benefit Goodwill Industries of Denver. Goodwill operates career-focused community programs benefitting at-risk youth, struggling adults and people with disabilities. Each year Goodwill helps reverse the cycle of poverty for tens of thousands of Coloradans. Learn more at www.goodwilldenver.org.

Additionally, Gear Grab will host a kick off party on Tuesday, April 3 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at PorchLight Real Estate (838 Broadway, Denver). Visit http://gear-grab.com/news/blog/kickoff/ to learn more.
