Morningside College (my alma mater) Choir performed at Trinity United Methodist on Friday, March 6 in Denver as one of their last stops of their tour.
The college featured a website with blogs, photos, and videos, so that people could follow their tour across the Western United States. Visit the site: http://webs.morningside.edu/music/Choirtour09/about.html.
From the "About Us" section:
While taking the Morningside College choir on tour isn’t new, the way in which this particular tour is being put together is much different than we have tried in the past.
In just over 10 days, the choir and friends will log some four-thousand miles, host events in 4 cities, perform nine major concerts and meet 2000 Morningside College alumni, students, future students and concert-goers, all the while capturing their Morningside memories and stories as they chat with us about what it means to be a Morningsider.
Speak up!! - We Want to Hear from You!
As we said, this is more than about the choir touring, though that is very, very important. At every stop, “friends of the choir” making the trip, better known as the “road crew” will engage alumni, friends, concert-goers, prospective students in conversation. They will be “shooting” video using a digital camcorder. We want to hear from concert goers about the choral performance and from leaders of churches where the choir performs about home-stays and all the things that go into putting on a concert.
We want to hear from alumni about their Morningside experiences. Those stories might include a favorite memory or some thoughts about old friends and faculty. The “roadies” hope to collect close to 50 stories that will warm your heart, inspire us all and particularly, allow us to “connect the dots” for alumni and students.
Mom wants to know- Where Are You?
The “roadies” are going to keep you informed! Morningside College alumni and friends can follow the entire trip on the Morningside College Web site, where the young people blog daily about their experiences and share photos and video stories from alumni and friends.
