This Holiday Season, End the Wait

As part of its Holiday Gift of Life Campaign, The National Kidney Foundation Serving Colorado, Montana and Wyoming is reminding Americans that for the holidays, the greatest gift anyone can give is the promise to register for organ and tissue donation or by considering living donation.

“More than 100,000 people are waiting for organ transplants in the U.S.,” commented Judy Norman, Regional Vice President of the foundation. “This holiday season, help end the wait for those on the transplant list by giving a present that really counts—the gift of life.”

The National Kidney Foundation is doing its part with its End The Wait! initiative, a comprehensive plan to end the wait for kidney transplants.

“Most of the people on the list will wait too long for an organ and too many will die while waiting,” said Norman. “We’ve decided to meet this challenge head on and lead a broad-based initiative that will increase the pool of living and deceased donors.”

The National Kidney Foundation Serving Colorado, Montana and Wyoming is dedicated to preventing kidney diseases, improving the health and well-being of individuals and families affected by these diseases and increasing the availability of all organs for transplantation.
