Popular fitness franchise to open its doors in Denver on February 2, 2011

Farrell’s eXtreme Bodyshaping (FXB), a popular fitness franchise developed in Iowa, will unveil its first Denver location at 1547 S. Colorado Blvd. Grand opening festivities and ribbon cutting will be held on February 2, 2011 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and will benefit the Special Olympics Colorado. The Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce will also participate in the opening ceremonies and there will be refreshments, prizes, and a trainer meet-and-greet. In addition, 10% of all sales for the night will be contributed to Special Olympics Colorado.

The new FXB location boasts 2,500 square feet of mat space dedicated to the participants’ workout. Fitness kickboxing classes are held on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and resistance-training classes are held Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. Class times are at 5:15 a.m., 6:15 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Class times will be added in the future to accommodate participants’ busy schedules.

The first 10-Week Challenge at the FXB location will begin February 5. Franchise owner Dan Dorenkamp has already started enrolling participants.

“There are a large number of health-conscious people in Denver who are looking for a fitness and nutrition program that works,” Dorenkamp states. “Farrell’s is it! The motivation, accountability, challenge and personal attention that I received during my 10-Week challenge is what set Farrell’s apart from any other fitness program I’ve experienced. I can’t wait to share that same experience with the Denver community and help people reach their health and weight loss goals.”

Farrell’s is a results-based fitness program for participants of any age, lifestyle, sex or athletic ability, combating obesity and developing healthy lifestyle habits. In just 45 minutes a day, six days a week, for 10-weeks, Farrell’s participants make real changes in their fitness and overall health. Participants are part of a team and have a coach and instructor to provide guidance, motivation and accountability. The Farrell’s 10-Week Challenge gives participants the opportunity to compete for a $1,000 grand prize, awarded to those with the most eXtreme body transformations in 10 weeks.

The Farrell’s program includes three essential elements:
• Fitness Kickboxing – a Taekwondo-based workout that combines rhythmic martial arts moves, including dynamic kicking and punching, and bag training to push bodies to their cardiovascular limits.
• Resistance Training – an intense anaerobic bands workout that targets “problem areas” through exercises specifically designed to sculpt, tone and shape the entire body. These workouts turn bodies into calorie-burning machines.
• Nutrition – a well-balanced eating plan that converts food into fuel for the body. By eating six times per day, participants stay satisfied and in “burn mode” all daylong.

“We are in the business of helping people transform their lives – results are typical,” says Farrell’s Founder, Lance Farrell. “We have helped over 27,000 people transform their lives through this program. Our certified instructors, coaches and teams help participants improve their overall fitness, balance, coordination, strength, muscle tone, body shape, self-defense and agility.”
