EVENT WILL BENEFIT THE SALVATION ARMY MAY 18-19

Gear Grab, a community-based consignment event for used sporting equipment, will hold its third event in Denver on Saturday, May 18 and Sunday, May 19 at the parking lots at 901 Bannock St., Denver. A portion of the event’s proceeds will benefit The Salvation Army Denver Adult Rehabilitation Center.

“At Gear Grab, participants can buy and sell lightly used sporting equipment for both kids and adults,” commented Co-Founder Mark Barrow.  “With food, drinks, live music, prizes, and shopping to enjoy, Gear Grab is for all ages and offers all types of sporting gear and clothing.”

Those interested in participating can first register at www.gear-grab.com. Gear drop off times are May 17 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and May 18 from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Consignors and volunteers get to shop an hour early, beginning at 11:00 am on May 18.  Gear goes on sale to the public from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on May 18 and from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on May 19.

“For consignors, this means cold hard cash for your unused gear,” said Co-Founder Aaron Hart. “For shoppers, this means pre-screened, high quality products at a discount. This is not a swap, as there will be a monitored outdoor store where our team manages the sales. Summer is right around the corner, and Spring is the perfect time to stock up on your summer sporting gear at discounted prices!”

A portion of Gear Grab’s proceeds will benefit The Salvation Army Denver Adult Rehabilitation Center. The organization operates five “family stores” and one certified donation center along Colorado’s Front Range. In Denver, The Salvation Army’s Adult Rehabilitation Center is a live-in facility for over 100 men and nearly 30 women, providing them with a job readiness program and other support services.  Learn more at denver.satruck.org.

“Most people are familiar with our stores,” said Captain Ron McKinney, Community Affairs Manager of The Salvation Army’s Denver Adult Rehabilitation Center. “The Salvation Army operates in 127 countries, and here in Denver, like in all our other locations, we are dedicated to improving the lives of men, women and children.”

Gear Grab is sponsored by Big Wheel Rally, Competitor Group, Eighty Ate, Diggity, Endurance Sports Marketing, Left Hand Brewing, Züm XR, Rolling Video Games and Qi Fitness. For more details, visit www.gear-grab.com.
